How to make a pet-pet GIF
This pet GIF maker uses DropGIF's own hand-drawn cartoon hand, which taps your photo while it squashes and stretches in time with each pat.

- Pick a speedSlow is a gentle, affectionate pat. Normal is the classic petting rhythm. Fast is frantic patting for when someone did something truly great.
- Choose a size112 px is made for Discord emoji. 256 px is a good middle size for chat reactions. 400 px is best when the GIF is the whole message.

Who deserves a headpat
A headpat gif maker is the internet's way of saying “good job” or “there, there” without typing a word. A few people (and things) that have earned one:
- Your friend's Discord avatar after they carried the team in a ranked match.
- The group chat's resident overthinker, at 112 px so it works as an emoji.
- Your cat, who would never tolerate this in real life.
- A character from the show your server watches together every week.
- Yourself, after finally finishing your taxes.
- Your own photo in the team Slack after shipping something on a Friday.
If a pat is too gentle for the moment, the explosion GIF maker shakes a photo until it bursts. For a reply-style reaction, try the speech bubble GIF maker.
Using your petting GIF as a Discord emoji
Choose 112 px before you tap Make my GIF. At that size the pat still reads clearly next to text, and the file stays light. At the time of writing, Discord's custom emoji are small squares (128×128 is its standard size) and each file has to be under 256 KB, so a small GIF is the right place to start.
To add it, open your server's Server Settings, go to the Emoji tab and upload the GIF. You'll need permission to manage emoji in that server. Then type its name between colons, like :petpet:, to send it.
For regular chat, 256 px or 400 px reads better as a standalone reaction. Download it and drag it into the message box, or use Share on your phone. Your photo is processed in your browser and never uploaded, so petting a friend's avatar stays between you and the chat.
